Terms of Service

TeddyReads is for parents and guardians creating books for or about their children. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to create an account. Accounts are for adults only, children never sign in, create their own accounts, or provide information directly to us.

By uploading a photo or details about a child, you confirm you are that child’s parent or legal guardian, or have that parent or guardian’s permission to do so.

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

When you upload a photo, describe a child’s appearance, or record a voice sample, you’re giving us permission to use that content solely to generate, store, and deliver the personalized book and narration you’ve requested. An uploaded photo is used once, to create the character design your child’s illustrations are drawn from, and is deleted from our records as soon as the book is finished. The finished illustrations remain, since they are the book you asked for. We do not use your photos or voice recordings to train AI models, sell them, share them with other users, or use them for any purpose beyond creating your own book. Only your account can access the content and books you create.

You retain ownership of any photo, voice recording, or other content you provide. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to upload it and to request illustrations or narration based on it.

Story text, illustrations, and cover art are generated using AI models based on the details you provide. AI-generated content can be imperfect, we don’t guarantee that every illustration, sentence, or narration will be free of errors, and results can vary between generations. You’re welcome to regenerate individual pages or images where that option is offered.

We grant you a personal, non-commercial license to view, download, print, and share the books you create for your own family use. Please don’t resell, redistribute commercially, or claim authorship of the underlying story-generation technology itself.

Your first book is free. After that, digital books and any add-ons (such as voice cloning, where not already included) are one-time purchases, not a subscription, charged through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and are subject to change for future purchases.

Printed copies are produced and shipped by a third-party print-on-demand partner. Print pricing, shipping cost, and estimated delivery time are shown before you pay. Production and shipping timelines are estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by factors outside our control.

If a printed book arrives damaged or defective, contact us at [email protected] and we’ll work with you to make it right.

You agree not to use TeddyReads to:

• Upload a photo of a child who isn’t yours and whom you don’t have permission to create a book for
• Request illustrations, story content, or narration that is illegal, harmful, or exploitative, especially involving a child
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its generation systems
• Use a cloned voice you don’t have the right to record and reuse

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

TeddyReads is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every generated result will meet your expectations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TeddyReads isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use TeddyReads after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
